Southwest Road Trip Part 3 – Tent Rocks, Bandelier, and Santa Fe

We got a little behind on blogging our adventures. I guess that’s what happens  when wedding season kicks off and we’re working in two states! As we’re currently on a road trip in Northern California and getting excited to share pictures from the Pacific Coast, I figured we had better finish telling you about the rest of our Southwest road trip. We started in Sedona and our story left off in Chaco Culture, one of the highlights of the trip for sure. From there we headed to a little known place called Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. It didn’t seem like much at first but we quickly found ourselves in a stunning slot canyon. Unlike the red slot canyons of Zion, Tent Rocks seems almost dull in color but the soft rock makes for other stunning tent-like features giving the place it’s name. From there we went to Bandelier National Monument which featured some stunning cliff dwellings. Our next stop was Santa Fe which meant setting aside our cameras to focus on eating and relaxing. My only regret is not taking pictures of the awesome meals we enjoyed in Santa Fe, the problem was that by the time we thought about it our plates were clean.

Next and last stop on this Southwest road trip, Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. Definitely a playground for all ages. Stay tuned as we’ll get that post up soon.
