Colorado sure has a lot to offer and while you’ll typically find us in the mountains, we had a blast with these downtown Denver engagement photos. James and Kate have an amazing mountain wedding planned so it was fun to contrast that with this urban engagement shoot. We absolutely loved pushing ourselves creatively and mixing things up.

I may have grown up in Denver, Colorado. But anyone who’s been here for awhile knows that the city has transformed over the years especially places like the RiNo. The River North Art District and its countless colorful murals was the perfect backdrop for these two lovebirds.

While pulling off a quick wardrobe change at our mid-shoot brewery stop, Kate and I were reminded that the girls bathroom at a bar is the perfect place to get pre-photoshoot validation. The friendly patrons complimented Kate’s hair, red dress, and her shoes which made my job easy.

After that, a few compliments from her fiance and Kate was a natural! We love watching normal couples turn into models for a few hours. The best part is we didn’t have to tell her to growl like a tiger or look happy because happiness is something these two have in spades.
