Colorado Winter Engagement Shoot with Skiing

We’re pretty darn excited to share this two part adventurous Colorado winter engagement shoot starting with their skiing engagement. Allie and Scotty are good friends of ours and we’re counting down to their wedding day with giddy elation. It’s a huge honor when good friends ask us to be their wedding photographers. You might think that it doesn’t sound like a big deal, they’re our friends, of course they would support us, but to us it means something. It means they trust us to capture a very important day despite how well they know us! Additionally, they’re willing to bet that the client relationship won’t affect our friendship. Essentially, mixing business with friendship can be messy and risky. It’s not for everyone. However, these two risk-takers put their beautiful faces in our hands and we can’t wait to share what we captured with you.

If I had to pick one thing that I love about this couple, it’s that they know how to have fun together. We spent a large portion of the weekend laughing, skipping, and smiling. In fact, asking them to “not smile” for a photo was no small feat. Despite their obvious and abundant joy, they can actually be quite stoic. They can one minute be cracking Squallywood jokes and the next be realistically discussing their hopes and dreams for the future. They have the ability to be expressive and share emotions while also having the self-control to avoid complaining. Considering we were shooting in some pretty brisk conditions, complaining would have definitely been understood.
