Adventurous Big Sur Engagement Road Trip

Adventuring with strangers is something I hope to never take for granted. I was about to write that it’s something I wouldn’t get to do if not for this job, but in reality thats how we met many of our closest friends during college. In fact, that is how we met one another. You get to see a place both as you see it and as others do, you have your own ephemeral experiences as well as the second hand ones and the ability to make something lasting through shared memories. The tree you walked by without notice, the slightly different impression of a place, and the joy of someone to share the moment with are all benefits of new experiences with new people. That’s probably why I was so excited when Lynn e-mailed me. Her vision for her and Karam’s engagement photos was one of adventures up the beautiful and rugged coastline that is Big Sur, California. This is the perfect recipe of a Bergreen Photography PhotoDate, we love capturing experiences. After we exchanged a few giddy e-mails a plan formed and earlier this week we met at a previously decided location, a lack of reception allows visitors the reminder of a time before cell phones, and embarked on an adventurous Big Sur engagement road trip.

I have to warn you that if you haven’t been to Big Sur, these photos might give you wanderlust. We are already trying to fit another trip into our calendar. If you plan ahead you can get an awesome campsite like Lynn and Karam did. Take notes from their playbook and stay for the week because there is a lot to see and every time we visit means a new discovery. Also, take a map. No reception means that finding some secret spots can be tricky.
