Fall Vail Wedding Deck Elopement | Jessica and Dale
This fall Vail wedding deck elopement has kept me energized all week. It all started when I walked into the suite saying, “is someone getting married today?!” And was greeting with a jolly, “is someone having a baby today?!” I wasn’t, don’t worry, but my belly is obviously a round and an unmistakable baby bump now! From that moment I knew we were going to have a fun day filled with jokes and laughter.
A thunder storm loomed. The bride checked her doppler. There was electricity in the air and not just excitement from the wedding. As we approached the gondola, our transportation to the Vail wedding deck, the attendant told us they were closed for lightening. I waited. I thought he was joking and knew any minute he would smile, crack up, and scan our tickets. Instead, we walked away and headed down to the river to take a few photos while we waited for the gondola the reopen.
A few photos later, rain loomed so we headed to the bar for a drink. The bride and groom changed their shoes and we hiked up the steep mountain to the closest vibrant Aspen grove. Thanks to the groom setting the pace, we reached the cover of the trees and got out the umbrellas just in time as the storm passed. We took some pictures, saw the gondola reopen, and headed back down to meet the rest of our party. The wedding was back on and the Vail wedding deck didn’t disappoint. The epic views were the perfect backdrop for this couple to exchange their vows and have their first dance. Cheers you two!
