Stephanie and Solomon’s Loveland Pass Colorado Mountain Engagement
For Stephanie and Solomon’s Loveland Pass Colorado mountain engagement we explored both Herman Gulch and Loveland Pass. We wanted mountain views and an awesome sunset while staying fairly close to Denver since this couple was in town for Solomon’s moms graduation. Her completion of a PhD was the perfect reason for this couple to come to Colorado and we’re glad they fit in some time for their engagement PhotoDate! Something that Solomon loves about his bride is something that we love about the adventurous couples we get to work with. Steph is a woman than can easily go from ski boots to high heels! On top of that she doesn’t mind a little wind in her hair.
We were excited that Steph and Sol were game to hike to a little meadow we found near Herman Gulch. It was the perfect elevation for this time of year. The grass and Aspen leaves were a stunning green and we were still able to find some snow for a snowball or two. From there, after we were properly acclimatized, we headed to Loveland Pass for sunset. We knew that the mountain views would be stunningly dimensional with the remaining snow on the peaks. What we didn’t know was that we would get a mind-blowing sunset.
We were shooting in beautiful light with spectacular views but it seemed the sun was just going to fade away into the clouds. Instead, the sunset just kept getting better and better. We had alpine glow on the mountains to the East along with a deep purple sky and fluffy purple clouds. To the west, the clouds kept turning a brighter and brighter pink. The engagement shoot was a blast. Marc and I both left raving not only about the sunset but about how incredibly easy both Stephanie and Solomon are to talk to and photograph. They tell great stories, are great listeners, and are extremely comfortable to be around. We can’t wait for their Breckenridge wedding later this year!
