Adventurous Yosemite Engagement with Rock Climbing

We’re blown away and delighted by the people we meet. The adventurous spirits, the playful relationships, the joyful explorers. Making new friends in beautiful places and calling it work is something I hope to never take for granted. Climbing, backpacking, laughing, and taking pictures is a recipe for the perfect weekend if you ask us. Jeremiah and Chiu-Yu invited us on just such a weekend and we’ve been looking forward to it all summer. They turned out to be as cool, if not cooler than you’d expect of a couple requesting to meet us in Yosemite for a weekend adventure. Not only are they an adorable couple. They’re also wicked smart, down to earth, and super fun to be around. We couldn’t be more excited to catch up with them again for their wedding in Hood River, Oregon next year. We met Jeremiah and Chiu-Yu at the Tuolumne backcountry office, which as it turns out is a very crowded place to meet! It’s full of people queued up hoping for backcountry permits. Luckily for us, Jeremiah and Chiu-Yu had endured the line the day before and snagged a permit to the top of beautiful North Dome. With some extra daylight we figured there was time to get in some climbing before backpacking in and making it to North Dome for sunset.
