Adventurous Breckenridge Elopement on a Mountain

We are pretty excited to share this Breckenridge wedding photography with you, this photoshoot is one that is extra special since the couple in question is extremely important to us. Don’t get me wrong, all the couples we work with are important to us. In this case, however, Carla and Sue are family, they have been together for 20 years, and they set an amazing example for us regarding how to have a harmonious relationship. The time we have spent with them, both on this shoot and in other aspects of life, shows us that they know the importance of both strong communication and having fun. They are also always down for a little adventure. Therefore, when they approached us and told us about their desire to elope and have one epic photo to send out to friends and family to announce the unexpected event, we knew we had to find the perfect spot. Marc and I brainstormed various locations for a photo that would encompass a big event after 20 years of steadfast commitment. Knowing that some of the best places to shoot are the hardest to get to, we sent them a teaser photo of what we thought it would look like to be at the top of Breckenridge. Luckily they trust us, somewhat blindly, and we set out to celebrate their love. After a long, bumpy, somewhat terrifying drive, the road became snowy and impassable so we got out and continued the journey on foot. Every extra foot of elevation we gained the views became more stunning. We were in a race to the summit with the sunset and the atmosphere couldn’t be more joyous. Carla probably tells the story best about what it took to get to the summit. It was cold, we were close to 13,000 ft, and I was carrying the extra weight of baby Bergreen. As you can guess, there came a moment when some of us may have thought the views were good enough. Suddenly, Marc hoofed it to the summit in order to scout ahead and see what we might be missing. Of course his discovery would be that it was amazing, worth it, and the rest of us better hurry up the scree slope in order to see the unbeatable views. The reality is that this is how I’ve summited most of the mountains that I’ve climbed, Marc Bergreen’s excitement for the top is hard to resist. I imagine Carla and Sue would say that the summit was the perfect spot for their adventurous Breckenridge elopement.

We’re excited to share these photos with you. We had to hold them back for a few weeks while Carla and Sue made the big announcement of their wedding but it’s time to let you see their joy, beauty, and passion for life. These women are strong, beautiful, and an inspiration. As you’ll soon see they are also fearless! We’re honored we got to be a part of helping them celebrate their wedding.
