2016 in Review – The Making of Bergreen Weddings | California and Colorado Wedding Photographer
Our to-do list this week is full of the joys of looking back on the past year. As 2016 comes to a close and we prepare for the adventures of 2017 we’re taking some time for completion, reflection, and anticipation. Tedious things like reviewing our accounting and marketing plan are accompanied by more inspirational tasks like looking back over our business goals for the year. Analyzing various levels of success helps us be intentional about what we want for the coming year. One of my favorite tasks is looking through the places we went, the couples we met, and the fun we had. Sometimes the behind the scenes of our year helps us remember exactly how much fun we had at work.
While we’re generally focused on our clients and capturing their love, every so often we drop a few photos of ourselves into a separate folder. We have photos from both the beach and mountains as we transitioned from a California to Colorado wedding photographer team. As I look back through said photos there are a few things I noticed about this year.
- It seems like we do a lot of laying down on the job. In my case there’s evidence of dusting off snow, dirt, and grass.
- Our clients are awesome. They are fun to be around, they make us laugh, and they often do whatever it takes for a photo whether it’s hiking to the view or traipsing through the snow.
- We really enjoy hitting the dance floor after a hard days work.
- I got my camera stolen… twice!
- Marc takes risks with our camera equipment balancing on rocks high in the air or over water.
Enjoy “the making of the photos!” We included some of the results of our shenanigans so you can feel assured that our contortions, risks, and silliness did indeed result in a photo.
At that last wedding, where I’m holding the bouquet, I had just skidded down the snow bank to the parking lot and miraculously landed gracefully on my feet. After seeing my near catastrophe, the chivalrous groom made sure to help his wife down gently. No brides were harmed in the making of our photos!
