Adventurous Granby Wedding Photos

I’ve been giddy to share these adventurous Granby wedding photos. When we first met Kate and James they had a vision of a wedding morning hike, just the two of them, followed by an intimate sunrise ceremony. Then, they would feel ready to party with their friends.

The day started in the wee hours as we planned to leave Ouray Ranch and hike to an overlook for sunrise. As these two shared their vows in the quiet mountain setting, I couldn’t help but tear up at the power of such moments. It’s one thing to feel the power of love, it’s another to combine that with the awe of being in such an amazing place.

Awe has incredible power as an emotion. It helps reframe things from our own selfish needs to that which benefits our community, our family, our beloved. To me, this is perfectly poetic for James and Kate’s wedding day.

Being somewhere that washes away your stress while simultaneously causing you to feel the magnitude of the moment is a great way to start a marriage. I’m grateful these two found us and allowed us to witness this day in their lives.

Kate has a contagious smile and a way of expressing gratitude that makes her wedding day feel like everyones wedding day. James, while more stoic, doesn’t hesitate to take time out of his day to make sure everyone (especially the caterer who served the delicious food) had some quality whiskey to help celebrate.
