Grateful for you | A love letter to our couples of 2019

Dearest couples,

We are grateful for you.

Thank you for trusting us to tell your story. Thanks for showing us your love, joy, and hope. The look in your eyes as you sway in the arms of the one you love is a reminder to us to dream.

I know that look won’t always come easy, but I hope you can find a way to access it even when things are hard. As the face you adore becomes more wrinkled and aged, may you notice it also become more wise. As memories and moments stack up, I hope the powerful ones shine light on the challenging ones.

If you chose to have children and you see each other in their actions, I hope you can laugh and adore them more for the ways they are a reflection of you and the ways their own personalities emerge. As you watch your spouse fill all the roles they take on, be sure to appreciate their adaptability and growth but also don’t let any one thing define them.

Support each others ambitions. Hold each other close in times of grief and help each other fly in times of growth. Remind each other that you are worthy of love.

Love is powerful and important. It helps us have both reason to celebrate and the strength to endure challenges. Don’t lose touch with your love, remember it even when it is hard to connect with.

When you want to love each other better, start with loving yourselves. Know that you are worthy of love and that you deserve unconditional acceptance. Then, extend that unconditional love to each other, your families, and everyone you come into contact with.

Spread love like wildflower seeds. Let it go far, wide, and unexpected. Let it be an effortless surprise and one that everyone is deserving of.

And don’t forget about adventure. Don’t forget that this life is both too short and very long. There is plenty of time to do it all and yet let’s remember to seize the day.
