Sequoia Halstead Meadow Wedding | Filled with Wildflowers

I’ve been looking forward to sharing this Sequoia Halstead Meadow wedding. Not only is this couple simply amazing, the day they planned to celebrate their wedding was perfect. We met them at their airbnb in Three Rivers and then headed up into Sequoia National Park. They had chosen Halstead Meadow as their ceremony site, which I was extremely excited about, more about that in a moment. Then we headed to play in the big tress, run into our friends the deer and bear, and climb to the summit of Moro Rock for sunset. The joy, smiles, and passion that these two shared made us feel like the luckiest photographers in the Sierras. The way Christian cared for and looked out for Jessica was adorable, especially since it seemed he is actually more afraid of heights than she is!

Sequoia National Park is one of our favorite places anywhere. There’s something magical about the Sierras that takes our breath away despite countless trips there. Halstead Meadow is pretty cool because it’s the largest meadow crossed by Generals Highway and has recently been restored. When the road was built, it cut the meadow in half which disrupted the natural waterflow and impacted the habitat and vegetation. Building a bridge allowed the meadow to be restored and as you can see, it’s stunning. And yes, there has been a positive impact on the habitat as well as we saw a bear moments before the ceremony. Cheers to this inspirational couple for caring so much for two things that are important to so many of us, marriage and wild places.
