I was standing in a beautiful spot at Glacier Point with Zehra. She was standing in front of a beautiful vista awaiting her family and her groom. It was her wedding day but she was asking me about my life and my work. Our conversation and her thoughtful questions allowed me a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to help create these experiences for the couples we get to work with. It’s easy to reflect and feel gratitude while gazing upon Half Dome! We had a blast exploring some of the most epic views in Yosemite with Mark and Zehra. It’s a treat to be sharing this Glacier Point Yosemite wedding photography today.

We met Mark and Zehra at the Ahwahnee (Majestic Yosemite Hotel) for a pre-dawn first look on the lawn. From those first moments we knew it was going to be a special day. This couple is sharp, kind, and extremely easy to be around. From there we explored Yosemite Valley with them as the day grew lighter and the sun rose over the mountains. Summer is a crowded time of year in the park but at sunrise we had this wonderland of beauty to ourselves. We made our way up the mountain and they had an intimate morning ceremony at Glacier Point. Then, after spending the day with their families, we met them for a sunset hike to Taft Point.

There are a lot of things I love about this wedding. The people, the timing, and the location to name a few. How do we celebrate something as important as love? How do we communicate the significance of marriage? As storytellers we believe that the setting plays a big part. For one, the light and location is a big part of our photography. But it’s more than that. All you have to do to know that life is good is stand quietly in one of Yosemite’s meadows and tune into what you feel. Every sunrise is a new beginning, a new opportunity. Every sunset reminds us of the movement and vastness of the earth. Experiencing these fleeting moments that happen everyday gives us great appreciate for the natural world. If you were to pick a perfect setting for any of the great emotions, I imagine a sunrise or sunset would help tell the story. My wish for Mark and Zehra is that their marriage continues like their wedding day. May the new beginnings bring you joy and the adventures of life take your breath away.
